In order to add POE to our chosen HD/IP™ switch model, we thought long and hard about the neatest and most cost effective method. Because POE isn't required for the HD/IP™ transmitters, it felt like overkill to have all those POE ports not in use.
The 1U rackmountable POE hubs we stock, in 12 and 24 way models, were the best solution. They are a "loop in, loop out" arrangement. Allowing POE to be added to a data transmission from the HD/IP™ network switch. Not only is this cheaper than buying individual injectors, but neater in your installation.
The best thing about these units is that they can be used with any 10/100 or gigabit POE device. If your HD/IP™ network only has 8 receivers, the remaining 4 injectors in the hub can be used with other devices in your installation. Wireless access points, control system keypads and more. Meaning that no injector need go to waste. Each injector is treated individually, so there's no need to worry about passing traffic from different networks through the unit. The units can be web-managed and controlled via IP if you want something more than just the out of the box functionality.
